Car Envy, Bentley Turning Green by Switching to Bio-Fuel
One of the pinnacles of the luxury car market sees one of the most evocative and “uber-chic” car marques’ turning green for the sake of the environment and global pressure, with a view to reducing its carbon foot print (or tyre tracks), thus improving Bentley Motor Cars environmentally green credentials.
The move by Bentley to head down a greener road was brought about in by the motor company’s announcement made in February 2008 as an initiative to address the ever-increasing demand for fuel efficient, lower emission vehicles which has been mounted around ever-fluctuating oil prices and publicly increased concerns about the impact of climate change on the environment we live in.
The Crewe-based Volkswagen-owned company are using this initiative strategy which is currently being progressively implemented throughout the Bentley motor company’s range which are now producing a new range of engines which will offer a 40 per cent improvement in fuel economy and due to be fully implemented by 2012. The new engine-technology or ‘flex-fuel’ system as it’s known as, will allow vehicles to be able to run on the plant-derived fuels, but this will also allow the vehicles to run on conventional petrol as well.
An adoption of alternative fuels (like Bio-ethanol) and new technologies are nothing new, although Bentley state that they want to be consciously and responsibly producing car’s with an aim in helping to reduce CO2 emissions and whilst focusing efforts of global dependency on fossil fuels. All with a purpose of using sustainably produced bio-fuel options for the running environmentally sympathetic luxury cars in the modern age of motoring.
Even both of the HRH the Queen’s car’s have now been converted by Bentley to run on bio-fuels in an attempt to reduce the impact of fossil fuel consumption and obviously it looks good in the public eye too, if we are all having to address the matter of environmental sustainable motoring.
Running on Bio-fuels is not the only “Green method” employed at the Bentley factory in Crewe, as many parts and materials used in the car’s production are manufactured from and use recycled materials throughout the current range of luxury vehicles. For example, the use of shredded re-cycled fabrics being used in the manufacture of the seats and door insulation also recycled aluminium in parts of the dashboard. Bentley motor company also claims that their cars are up to 85% recyclable.
Don’t think for one minute that a bio-fuel powered Bentley has anymore less performance, as to prove the point and put the historic Bentley racing brand firmly back on the map, this year Bentley commissioned the help of four-time world rally champion Juha Kankkunen to attempt to break the World Speed Record on “Ice” on the frozen waters of the Baltic Sea off of the coast of Finland. He recorded speed of 205.48mph, whilst driving a Bentley Continental Supersports GTC, so it’s no slouch!
Is It Safe to Buy Aftermarket Wheels?
Good wheels can make a big difference in a car’s overall safety, as tire and wheel manufacturers are quick to point out in their advertisements. There have been a surprising amount of major developments in wheel design in the last few decades, and despite the cliche, the wheel has been reinvented a number of times. This has led many drivers to question whether aftermarket wheels are as safe as factory models. After all, they cost less than quality factory wheels, so it stands to reason that there should be major differences. In most cases, however, the biggest difference between factory wheels and aftermarkets is simply the name printed on the wheels.
The good news is that aftermarket wheels are held to the same safety standards as factory options. While different manufacturers use different standards and features to differentiate their aftermarket products, at their core the wheels are based on the same design as factory wheels. Provided that they’re approved for use on a specific vehicle, it’s absolutely safe to use aftermarkets when they come from a reliable manufacturer, and thanks to a wide variety of manufacturers that specialize in high quality wheels, it’s possible to find aftermarket alternatives for just about any car, truck, or other vehicle on the market.
In fact, in certain instances they can actually improve the overall performance of a vehicle. They can provide better balance, and while this doesn’t mean better safety, it can mean better handling than standard wheels. Aftermarkets are often made from lighter materials than their factory alternatives, and some actually use different technology for enhanced handling. They’re a more professional option in many instances and can give a vehicle a much better look than what would be possible with a factory wheel.
This is why aftermarket options are preferred by serious racing enthusiasts and car modification hobbyists. Any improved performance adds value to a vehicle. This improved performance comes with a lower price, too, as aftermarket wheels don’t require the heavy name advertising investments of factory options, although many major aftermarket companies do have name recognition. An aftermarket wheel is simply less expensive than a factory wheel without a drop in performance and with a much lower price tag.
Ultimately, if aftermarket wheels were more dangerous than their major factory alternatives, they’d be harshly regulated to meet the high standards of safety commissions like the IIHS. Drivers who are worried about using aftermarket wheels should check into their materials to ensure quality, but aftermarket options are a great way to save money while getting improved balance and handling for any type of vehicle.
3D Illustration
3D illustration is core part of computer graphics animation and is a process of creating animation effects and images in a three dimensional environment (also referred as 3D world) within a computer and with the help of 3D software applications. What Is the Best DSLR for Video? – Tips Before Buying a DSLR for Video
DSLR for Video?
Two years ago, I asked my good friend and fellow film-maker what camera I should buy to stay current in the low-budget film industry. He said that I should buy a Canon 7D, the best DSLR for video on the market. I had to stop and think for a moment as I thought the Canon 7D was a photography camera, not a DSLR for video. I laughed at him and said, “No one is going to take me seriously if I show up to a film set or wedding with a photography camera to film video.” He said that he had already filmed 3 weddings with his and then he sent me to his website to look at the footage.
It opened my eyes to a whole new world of video production. I no longer cared about what I looked like holding a smaller camera. All I cared about was getting my hands on one of these Canon 7D cameras to produce videos that looked like his.
Shortly, after I began to realize that my buddy wasn’t the only one catching on to this DSLR craze. Major publications started promoting the Canon 7D and major camera companies started manufacturing and selling accessories to accompany the Canon 7D. It almost felt like the entire film and video industry had just given birth to the next generation of film-making. I have a feeling that this generation will last a while.
Canon 7D
I do believe that the Canon 7D is the best DSLR for video. In fact, I think it is the best low-budget camera, in general, for video or film production. There are way too many features to mention in this article, but I will list some of the most beneficial features when applied to video.
-All new CMOS records Full HD (1080p) at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels with a 16:9 aspect ration (widescreen).
-720p and Standard Definition video are also available within this camera
-Wide range of choices when determining frame rates to help get the desired look
-Works with all EFS lenses
-Records as MOV files, using AVC/ H.264 compression (conserves more memory)
-Magnesium alloy case for durability and weather resistance
-Records on CF (Compact Flash) cards
-Internal microphone AND 1/8” external microphone jack
The Bottom Line
If you are serious about jumping into the DSLR video world, then you will find that the Canon 7D will be used by the majority of professional film-makers and videographers alike. There is a reason for that and there is no need to be an exception. The Canon 7D has proved itself to be the best DSLR for video that money can buy. If you add a couple good lenses to the camera, you’ll have yourself a set-up worthy of filming literally anything you want.
Adult Child’s Abusive Relationship – The Significance of the Subtle Signs of an Abusive Relationship
While the punch, the black eye, the bruised throat or broken jaw are obviously glaring signs that one is living in an abusive relationship, these are not always the clues that inspire the abused to leave.
As human beings we have an enormous capacity to whether trauma and a built-in mechanism to compartmentalize our pain. It is our psychological coping procedure that in many respects helps us manage distress and keeps us sane.
So when your daughter or son puts a blanket of denial around the import of an assault, or a bucket of ridiculous rationalization around the last relationship blowout, realize the mechanism in play here. If your goal is to have your daughter or son see the light of the danger they live, instead look to the subtle to open eyes.
The Importance of the Subtle Signs in Shining the Light on Abusive Relationships
It’s the little things that happen daily that are utterly convincing because they simply cannot be denied. You see these little things, the subtle signs, are ever so pervasive. They are in one’s face 24/7. How can you deny something that you stumble upon daily or even weekly?
In working with people in abusive relationships over the years, I have found that as I help them identify the subtle signs of their own abusive relationship the light turns itself on glaring them in the eyes.
Look to the subtle communication patterns of intimate partner violence should you wish to shine the light on an abusive relationship that you suspect, or even know, your adult child to live.
Origins Of Pokemon: Where Do You Think They Come From?
Pokemon, such as the new creatures emerging in Pokemon Black and White and already being sold as plush toys, do not actually have their origins in a science fiction scenario of evolution gone wild on some strange planet or in an uncertain future on earth. They actually came from the practice of insect collecting!
Satoshi Tajiri, the inventor of the Pokemon game, was actually an avid collector of insects as a child. Though not exactly delicate I suppose, boys will be boys and they sometimes would match off mutually aggressive insects. There you have in a nutshell the whole idea behind Pokemon- hunt down and catch specimens, keep them in an enclosed container, and then use them for battle.
But insect collecting and fighting would be a far too prosaic concept for a Nintendo game and Tajiri needed to embellish it. Still, he had an exciting core concept that simply needed the infusion of fantasy. First, the insects became ‘monsters’ and instead of insect collecting boxes they were to kept in the more intriguing and sci fi ‘capsules,’ giving the game its first name: capsule monsters. The attributes of insects- they’re ability to fly, leap, grasp, bite, sting, and even spit all got incorporated into the monsters of the game in a highly imaginative and modified form. In many ways, the powers and abilities of Pokemon have their roots in the strengths, weaknesses, and strange powers of real animals.
Capsules Monsters did not last long as a name; although Nintendo loved the game concept and Pokemon has probably been, with its spinoffs included, the biggest moneymaker for Nintendo ever. The name first changed to Pocket Monsters to give it a more ambitious and dramatic flair, and later became shortened to ‘Pokemon.’ The emphasis on ‘monster’ shifted dramatically and decidedly took on a very ‘cute’ bent from the very beginning. Even the most ferocious of Pokemon do not look very scary and kids of all ages are attracted to them. Although play is dominated by boys, girls can enjoy Pokemon too, and are especially eager to buy Pokemon stuffed toys. Boys will buy stuffed plushies as well, but they are often interested in the Pokemon card game, and are avid collectors of the legendary Pokemon, shiny raikon and shiny equine.
But the cuteness of the Pokemon characters belies they’re ferocious capabilities, all of which are essential Pokemon features in the animation, comics, card game, and especially the video game. Pikachu may look like a cute little baby seal, but with his powerful electrical charge he is one of the most formidable of all Pokemon. Thus, Nintendo has very wisely straddled a market that is rough enough to appeal to big kids (particularly boys), and cute and engaging enough to capture the imagination of smaller children. Given the success of Pokemon spinoffs, one could say that it is perhaps one of the most successful video games ever.
SEX, Self Esteem, and ME!
I have touched on so many emotions in the past and I am still feeling the need to share yet another. I have spoken on women’s issues mainly, yet trying to keep men on a fair plain, mainly due to the facts and studies that more women experience self-esteem issues and jealousy monsters than men. Most of our emotions are gender friendly, except of course the ever so dreaded PMS and Menopause thingy. Although I have heard in passing that men do go through Menopause in a similar way. I will leave that for another article! (wink) If you have noticed throughout my blogs, that I have tried to remind everyone that I am speaking of both genders, even if I keep saying women. This is after all, a take off from my women’s self-esteem website.
I know you are all wondering, hmmm, “What is this article going to be about?”
Well.. it is going to be about “SEX”! Now I know I have your attention!
Is it not strange how anything that has the word, “SEX” in it, catches every ones eyes. Oh, do not even say, “Not me”. It is a three letter word that has more punch than Mohhamad Ally`s fist. No offence meant there. On a more serious note, SEX is definitely a key in ones well being, or higher self esteem. When we feel sexy, we can jump the highest wall and climb the tallest mountain. Yes, I am speaking to adults on this one. After all, it is when we reach adulthood that life becomes so complicated, and all the insecurities begin to control ones mind. We also find”SEX”. It is so a part of what makes a very stable beginning to a relationship, which one hopes flows into a marriage partnership. Again, please do not say, “I never had premarital SEX”. My parents had it, so I know everyone else in the world did too. Okay, I will maybe let 10 people get away with it. I am trying to incorporate self-esteem with relationships because a lot of what goes on between a man and a woman will trigger off ones deep inner emotions such as self esteem.
I have asked a few people of both genders, this question: “Why do people eventually forget what they have at home?” Is it because one or both have stopped trying to impress the other? Hmmm. Why would one stop trying to look good for their mate? Do you want your mate to fantasize of someone else in order to have SEX? (harsh, I know, but it is a truth) Do you talk to you mate in bed? Why not? After and during SEX, is the best time to talk to each other. Life is sweet after SEX and no one wants to get off the “Good feeling plateau”. The answers I received were shrugged shoulders to start with, which is really sad. It was more like, “DUH”. One man actually was excited to give his answer, “Damn, I agree”. That was about it. Again I say, “Sad”! Men and Women need to learn how to talk. I mean talk about their true grit feelings. Example: “Baby, am I sexy enough for you, I mean is there anything I can do to make you want me more?” Or if you desires something different from yours partner in SEX, you should be able to ask it without the fear of hurting the others feelings. Or having to calm them down from an, “Oh, so you don’t like me the way I am?”!!! We all fall into a first impulse scenario, especially if we have even the slightest insecurity. SEX is suppose to be fun and open and raw. Women, listen to me now, your man loves your body, he really does. SEX is non judgemental. That’s what I like about it. Passion through SEX is the most natural emotion that we have been blessed with. Why? It is because it is involving true emotion, there is no room for worry or before thoughts, which I call fabricated emotions. Once we have turned the wheels of the SEX engine, we are good to go. It is pure and clearly set.
Our bodies become our maps to nothing but good feelings and becoming one with our partner. Our partner is no more thinking of a movie he saw, or the perfect person that crossed their paths, than they are about work the next day. It is just the two of you, it is purely sweet SEX. We allow ourselves through our weaknesses to put up walls that keep us from opening our self to our partner. We know we crave them to become one with us, to inhale their oh so sweet body smells, and to feel the sexual adrenaline flow through our veins. Is that not enough to break down the walls of worry and insecurities? Many partners do not even know whats going on when their partners are in this stage of detachment. They will be tempted to take it as a rejection. We all know that once we feel rejected, we tend to not ask questions, thus closing the doors. SEX is totally the last thing on your mind when you feel that, resulting in both parties now setting up walls. What I am saying here is that it is soooo important to communicate with your partner. If you do not feel sexy or you just think maybe you smell bad, (shush), you are committed to tell them. When one knows that the other is not into SEX because they are feeling low about themselves, the norm will actually try very hard to break down those damn insecurity walls. That’s where TRUST and SEX are joined. With out those two friends, there is noooo orgasms. I know everyone luvz those. To get orgasms you must engage in SEX. There is no need for words, or I dids, or I did not`s. It is just REAL FEELINGS between two people. Can you actually say after SEX with your partner, that you feel low or insecure? NOPE!..well HELLO then, maybe it is time to look at SEX as not just a perk in a relationship. Time to look at SEX as an answer to bringing your lows to highs. People pay good money for therapists, and ruin their bodies taking drugs to get those feelings. WHY, when we have the cure right in front of us? And with a willing partner at your feet to do your bidding? Need I say more? It’s probably the first thing one shuts down when they feel their self esteem taking the wrong turn. Well then in that case, you need to address it immediately and grab your partner and just have SEX. Don`t laugh, I am serious. Tease each other, make each other laugh. It will take one second of body play to get the veins filled with hot blood, that triggers off your sexual appetite, then it is the big “O” from there! Oh and guess what, no more low self esteem feelings. WOOT!!!
One`s self-esteem rises and falls like waves!
Once it hits bottom it is time for emotional housecleaning
and much needed SEX!

Murano Glass Blowing Techniques
“Glass-blowing” is a method which has not changed a lot since its invention. In the simplest words it involves a glassmaker blowing inside the pipe in order to shape a glass object in the appropriate shape. What is significant in the look of products originating from Murano glassworks is that their magnificent appearance and colours are achieved due to special addition to the glass mixture. For example, adding gold or silver foil to the glass mixture will produce beautifully shimmering vases or bowls. When a glassmaker adds zinc, the glass will appear to be white; when adding cobalt, the product will have a sea deep blue tone; when mixing in manganese, the item will be violet. After the product is finished, a glassmaker places it in an oven called “tempera” in order to cool it down.
Below, you will find a short description of various techniques used by glassmakers on Murano Island.
AVVENTURINA
The technique was discovered in Murano in the early 17th century and its application allows a coloured glass item to show the effect of colour change when tilted. The legend says that avventurina glass was invented by accident when cooper filling was spilled by a Murano glassmaker into the glass he was working on. The glass is achieved through adding metallic components such as cooper or chrome which are slowly crystallized out of the molten glass. It makes the glass object beautifully glittering. The word avventurina comes from the Italian word “ventura” which means fortune or chance.
BULLICANTE
Bubbles in the glass occur either because this is an intention of a glassmaker or as an accident due to improperly used technique or a glassmaker not having enough experience in this field. Hand-made products always have a few bubbles in it. Bullicate is a technique which is used with intention of creating a regular pattern of evenly spaced air bubbles. The bubbles can be larger or smaller. Single bubbles are pushed into molten glass with a spike which makes a sphere looks silvered when the glass cools. It was widely utilized in the 1950s.
CHALCEDONY (CALCEDONIO)
The technique was invented in the 15th century on the Murano Island however soon after the formula for this kind of glass was lost for many years. The main characteristic of the calcedonio glass is visibility of polychromatic veins which run through the dark-coloured glass. As a result, by mixing various metal compounds in a certain fashion, the look imitating natural stones, such as chalcedony, agate or malachite is achieved. The usual metals used in this technique are silver and mineral oxides, such as copper, iron, or manganese, melted with opaline glass.
CAMEO
Cameo glass is a unique luxury form of glass art. It involves fusing two layers of different colour glass and later etching and carving the object to create a design. The most famous forms of cameo glass present white opaque glass figures and motifs on a dark coloured background. Some of the objects may also be carved in a manner to reveal portions of the underlying colours. This technique was first used by ancient Romans in 30BC, and was particularly popular among British artists in early 20th century.
CRISTALLO
Cristallo, invented in 1450 in Venice by a master of glass, Angelo Borovier, is famous for being first truly colorless glass, totally clear, without any yellow or greenish color originating from iron oxide impurities. It is achieved by bleaching glass mixture with help of manganese or other de-colorants.
FENICIO
Fenicio was used on glass even in the 200s AD, and at the end of the 17th century it was adopted by Murano glassmakers. It involves a glassworker to wrap the incandescent glass threads with a thin pontil and to comb the threads with a hooked tool when the object is still hot. After the threads are merged into a single piece of glass, the glassmaker achieves decoration which reminds festoons or feathers.
FILIGRANA
The filigrana technique was invented in the 1500s. Its final products are pieces which have an opaque white or coloured core. The technique involves using glass rods fused together, then blown and shaped by the glassmaker. There are three patterns which are produced when utilizing the filigrana technique. These are: mezza filigrana (single filament rods), reticello (diamond pattern where the threads cross and form a grid which is created as a result of twisting two halves of a glass piece in opposite directions during heating) and retortoli (two filaments twisted into a spiral shape and not crossing).
GHIACCIO (ICE GLASS)
Popular in the 16th to 18th century, the technique involves immersing still hot glass object in cold water. It leads to creation of a glass item which appears cracked on its surface, similar to crocked ice. After immersion in cold water, the crackles are covered with another layer of glass.
INCALMO
Incalmo glass was produced for the first time in the 16th century when Italian glassmakers looked for a technique which would allow them to make glass objects with two or three different coloured sections of glass looking as if it was one piece. Many different coloured glass pieces are fused together when the glass is still flexible to form a single piece.
LATTIMO (MILK GLASS)
Italian glassmakers have been using this technique since the 15th century. The main objective was to produce opaque white glass which would imitate popular that time fine china.
MILLEFIORI
This is the ancient technique which used for the first time in Egypt between the 3rd and 1st century BC and is still utilized by Murano glassmakers. It involves using thin sections of glass rods which are fused together, blown and then formed to create shapes, often in floral or geometric designs.
SOMMERSO
Invented in 1930s in Murano, the Sommerso technique allows to create objects with a layered appearance where on coloured layer of glass is covered by another one of different colour. Such an effect is created by using layers of glass formed by dipping the glass object into molten glass of another colour.
As we can see, the Murano glass making world has invented and utilized a number of techniques in order to bring us the most beautiful pieces of glass art. The results of these techniques are unique and various in style of glass decorative and functional glass objects which with their originality and uniqueness will make you and your guest sigh. Endowed with a unique design and beautiful colour, the Murano glass vases, centerpieces or bowls are the perfect gift or an exceptional part of your home decor.
Ottava Rima Poem and Anagram Poem
THE EXECUTION (Ottava Rima Poem)
A tin cup scraping along iron bars, cup a’ tea
Was even sweeter than honey and the honey-comb.
There were gleams in her perfect teeth and her sad esprit.
Her strange smell brought the breeze from her funeral home.
With hollow sad eyes, O Moon, you climb’st the night to see
Mad scientist’ of horror as bleeding piece of gnome.
She felt the dawn of hope and the sunset of despair
Leaves dancing across the grass, their shadow in the air.
On echoed hills, her voice was parched and glazed was her sight,
The sooner lily dies, the louder is its scent.
Tearing, roaring, she felt her painful soul in light,
In sweet coming death, her pitiful lament.
Her soul had terrified wings for her flight in the night.
She was cribb’d, confin’d in tears for this event.
Her legs bestrode the abyss, her rear’d arm held the pain
Her mind should ‘scape whipping her memory in vain.
Suddenly she felt a scent of garbage and perfume
Fog was in her eyes and wheezing throat because of fear
She got her head into heavens to dispel her gloom
After getting it into her head, her last frontier,
More than real, o’er her hallucinating doom.
She wanted to be happy but she felt her tear.
She realized her execution is cruel, not kind.
Her second became a hellish paradise of mind.
